marcus (1055), Sacramento, California, USA Apr 20, 2008 This light amber ale poured with a massive beige head, eliciting a floral aroma. There is a very balanced malt and hop flavor with a carbonated mouthfeel and a smooth but bitter finish. There were still remains of the beautiful head in my otherwise empty glass.
sridleyGTR (3), , Colorado, USA does not count Oct 11, 2008 1pt .9 oz bottle, served in shaker. A small layer of thick, molasses-colored sediment coats the bottom of the bottle. Pours a hazy caramel color, with a massive, pillowy off-white head that lingers forever. Medium to heavy carbonation. Aroma is yeasty, bready, grassy, spicy. Slick, somewhat oily, mouthfeel. Somewhat fizzy. Flavor is sweet and grassy up front, changing quickly to citrus. Lingering bitter hop aftertaste, with a sticky, dry finish. Not as bitter as many American IPAs, but still packs plenty of hop bite, with a decent malt balance. I’d place it somewhere between an English and American IPA. I will definitely drink this one again. LilBeerDoctor (642), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with a huge, thick light tan head. Aroma of lots of caramel malt, brown sugar, raisins, and toffee. Flavor of nice caramel malt with a slightly bitter finish. I’m not sure if this beer was supposed to taste like this (my bottle was definitely somewhat aged, but what can you expect with IPAs from overseas?) but I like it anyway. Nice malty goodness! Very tasty and supremely drinkable. fredandboboflo (633), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of caramel malt, hops in the citrus area. Flavor rich in both malt and fruity notes, mild but notable bitterness, sweetness comes predominantly from all the citrus fruit notes. A very nice IPA, especially since lots of sediment indicated that it had clearly held up over quite some time. 17thfloor (730), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 9, 2008 Pours a cloudy but glowing dark orange with a thick creamy beige froth on top with very fine lacing. Typical Nogne aroma, plastic, pineapple, earthy, lemon-grass. First taste is very bitter and earthy, very dry yet with an underlying slight toffee sweetness. Quite doughy with notes of grapefruit, pine and alcohol. A bit of rum-cake with a long lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium body, easy drinking and airy with abundant fine sizzling carbonation. Sophisticated. sirpsycho (190), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. GUSHER !!! (My first) Pours a hazy amber, very large off-white head, due to it being a gusher. Aroma is hops and grapefruit. Flavor is subdued grapefruit and hops, malt, a little sweet. Not a hop bomb, but a nice IPA.
