PhillyBeer2112 (1861), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 Slight citric and spiced hop aroma, somewhat herbal. Heavy bready malts and some apricot jammy fruitiness. Hazy amber, modest but firm head. Light, spritely palate, with soft spicy hop flavors, a little spicy/tingly wheat bread effect, and a long medium bitter finish. Lingering caraway spice and minitiness. Good drinker, fairly clean.
kwoeltje (1222), Manchester, Missouri, USA Oct 8, 2008 (bottle) nice slightly hazy medium amber gold with a very large light tan head. Aroma of citrus hops. Flavor is pine and citrus hops with sweetish malt. Nice take on an APA. porterhouse (951), Alna, Maine, USA Sep 28, 2008 (500 ml bottle from 1828 Vintage House) Hoppy and sweet... Pours slightly hazy amber with five fingers of biscuit head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel soft and smooth, almost a bit slimey. Heavy, webby sheets of lacing. Flavor is quite hop-forward. Piney flavor and bitterness overlays lighter caramel and vaniila malt sweetness.
A light bodied, mild beer with excellent flavor. Highly drinkable. Some light piney hops and citrus flavors. Lightly bitter in the taste and finish. Light maltiness in the background. Nice grapefruit aroma. TEJA (144), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 10, 2008 Nice grey foam. Big hop aroma. In the taste the hops also dominate and bitterness coming after some time almost tart.
