jtw (911), farmington, Michigan, USA Mar 2, 2008 16-ish oz bottle. hazy amber color with candy-like hops aroma, but an unfortunately lager-like tinny element to the aroma as well. maybe fermented TOO clean? flavor is light-bodied and initially only mildly hoppy, but the bitter presence eventually accumulates and the finish has some lingering citrus and viney flavor. malt backbone is there only for balance, very little sweetness. decent brew, perhaps i need a fresher sample.
sneagrams3 (1402), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Aug 31, 2008 The Dan Journal #237. Tasted 8/26/08. 500ml bottle. Hazy with a golden amber hue. Thick layer of off-white head. Citrus aromas, but too cold to get any real aroams. Medium bodied with a tight effervescence. Bitter flavors with a slight banana note. Orange and toast. Tangy and hoppy astringent. Tasty. Dr_Funk (80), Sorumsand, Norway Aug 30, 2008 Bottle from monopoly outlet, Oslo. Pours hazy amber with thick frothy white head. Wonderful hop aromas with grass and fresh hop flower.Smooth fruity taste. Dry finish with hints of liqorice. One of the best from Norway Allen (592), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Aug 29, 2008 Bottled 50cl. Batch number 347. It pours a hazy amber beer with a beautiful creamy off white head. Nice head retention. Quite a lot of sediment left in the bottle. The nose is wonderfully fruity with grapefruit, apricot and orange showing up. Some dough and wild strawberries to my surprise. Excellent hop profile. Some sorbet and pineapple sneaking in. Bitter hops in the taste. Medium bodied. Grapefruit appearing. A lot of lovely hop in here (Northern Brewer, Centenneal) cascade-like, excellent, balanced by a huge amount of dark chocolate. Medium bodied. Beautiful lacework. Resiny. Outstanding dry hoppy finish with hints of grapefruit and dark chocolate with quite a lot of licorice. Almost salty. Flawless, deeply pleasant and complex. A great beer! Thanks a lot larsga for this pale ale. My first beer I’ve sampled from Norway. ajm (331), USA Aug 25, 2008 Didn’t wow me: bottle from Whole Foods Albuquerque. Nice and crisp up front; not as appley as I like, and a bitter dry finish like an IPA. fb (49), Norway Aug 22, 2008 Bottle, batch 233. Fresh and sweet, slighly cloudly. This bottle has been stored for a couple of years, with no problem. Better than I remembered from last tasting.
