Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 23, 2004 A pitch black beer with a small chocolate brown disappearing head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of roasted bread and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted bread, alcohol, and chocolate, but the body is a little thin. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden May 17, 2004 Bottled. Black, rich head. Aroma of coffee and plums. Sweet, rich, salty and very burnt with notes of dates. Quite chocolatey. The mouthfeel is a bit less gentle than their Havre Stout, and it is cleaner and harder. Coffee and syrup in the finish. Papsoe (10359), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 3, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours pitch black with a weak, reddish tint and a handsome, creamy and cappuchinoish, beige head leaving laces. Soft aroma of hard roasted malts with a whiff of chocolate. Surprisingly light-bodied - almost a bit watery. Lots of roasted malt, lightly coffeeish and dry - very dry indeed. Lightbitter finish. Pleasant if not exactly a great Porter. 020606 Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 11, 2004 Dark brown colour. Large chocolate aroma with light coffeeish accents. Medium body. Quite toasty, cocoa-ish. Long and fairly dry. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 17, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours black with a dense light brown head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Promise of a roasted and hops bitter flavour. Flavour is mild tar, light smoked, roasted malt and smooth chocolate following. Very smooth with liqourice added along the way. Light roasted bitterness following into a chocolate and roasted malt bitter finish. Very nice. One of the pre-RB beers I finally get to rate. Perfect for boiling vegetables in the owen, carrots for instance. Seriously!
