LtJudge (355), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Oct 25, 2007 Pours a deep brownish/black colorwith a small tan head.Aromas of coffee, roasted malts and chocolate and fruit (and maybe some hints of alcohol as well) Flavor matches aromas with hints of vanilla as well. Very smooth on the mouthfell. Leaves a nice chocolate/coffee flavor in your mouth. A wonderful porter!!
luv_casks (178), USA Oct 13, 2008 Blackish slightly viscous pour with a finely beaded moussy brown head.
Bitter dark chocolate coffee and dried dates and figs in the note along with some bready notes
Taste: A very warm inviting rich blend of dark cocoa, espresso like notes dark dried fruits and some nutty flavors enveloped in a lightly silky package stopped from being too viscous with just a touch of chalkiness
Overall: What a wonderful beer - I just love the silky smooth textural component enveloping a lot of classic porter like notes. The best part being the dark malt flavors compliment and not dominate each other haukur (670), Reykjavik, Iceland Oct 11, 2008 black, small but firm film of head. Aroma of roasted nuts, roasted malt, coffe beans and something you would find at a burning fireplace. Taste is a bit hoppy, with tangling carbonation. Well balanced, long aftertaste of mocca, malts and hops. Very nice example of the style minch25 (195), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 3, 2008 Black; creamy tan head. Rich depth of dark malts.
