Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

Bottle. Clear, rusty gold body with an ample cream-colored head. Nicely alluring tropical fruit and cinnamon aromas with a pleasing sweet malt underbelly. Prominent, sweet caramelized English malt characters. Flavor-wise, the hop profile is somewhat subdued in this version and current state of the beer. Reminds me of something between Hop Devil and 90 Minute. Lacks the assertiveness of a big West Coast DIPA. Good, but not exceptional.

Thick hazy amber with a thin head on this one. Aroma is mighty complex. My first thoughts was that this is similar to an old ale... yeah, not an IPA. Heavy earthy notes surround this sweetness... it’s like wood, then dark fruit, wet wheat and lemon. Yeah, the English ale-malt helps out here. The flavor is amazingly not hoppy. This has a huge malt flavor that brings in some light caramel sweetness this warming smoothness. There is only a faint acidic sweetness to the end of it, but there is a considerable spicy flavor here. In a blind tasting, Imperial IPA would be about the 9th guess for what style this is. Great beer, but not really what I expect from an IIPA.

Bottle. Amber coloured with a thick and sticky off white head. Aromas of sweets, ginger and lemon. Flavour is sweet and bitter, with notes of caramel, sugar and pine.

Bottle. Been wanting to try this for a long time, finally found some. Pours out a reddish color with a tan head on it, looks really good. Smell is fruity, full of caramel malts, sugars, a little bit of hops (uh oh), and a touch of alcohol. This is where it went downhill. Since there is no bottled on date on the bottle and the ridiculous price of 14 dollars per bottle, I can only imagine that this beer was actually old, or if not old, then the hops fade very quickly. It was too sweet, not many hop flavors, and a weird off taste that I cant quite pinpoint. I know that I wouldnt buy this again stateside, but if I had a chance to drink it on tap over in Denmark, I would probably retry it. As is, my bottle was a 14 dollar drain pour. I couldnt finish 1/3 of the bottle. Bleh. I wish they had a bottled on date on this beer, that may help.

Clear brown pour with a thick, offwhite head. Strong aroma of resinous hops with sucre d’orge. Very good flavor of hops resin and sucre d’orge with a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation.

Bottle. Aroma of lots of rich caramel malt, brown sugar, toffee, some meandering raspberry, lots of subtle malty aspects, very complex. Flavor blossoms even more with all sorts of intricacies that I am too inept to name. Usually all these intricacies remain on the sweet side, but there is some bitterness there too, sometimes even to the point of an "East Coast" DIPA, but only occasionally. Regardless though, the body never becomes cloying or even close to syrupy. Either the bottle was on the old side or you Danes have a different definition of DIPA than we Americans, but either way, damn if it wasn’t a great beer.
