Tiny_Tim (21), Perth, Australia Sep 21, 2008 Black in colour, with a decent head. Smooth and malty favour, very well balanced. I cant say much more than I like this stout, it is very drinkable. Spesh1 (26), , Australia Jul 23, 2008 Updated: Aug 13, 2008A freind on east coast described it nicely=
What a great beer - smooth creamy texture, just sweet enough to balance the roast - but not roasted to effect the drinkability - not burnt or tar like and clean finish - comments on improvement - maybe look at hop blend to help clean up a slight harsh after bitterness - but minor points in a beer worthy of the gold medal.

Big bold and roasty, some chocolate notes, very drinkable. gam (576), brisbane, Australia Jun 1, 2008 A biege head good colour, medium size, very dark stout, carbonation seems slightly rapid.Aroma malty, coffee, chocolate, roast smells.Flavour roasted fresh taste of coffee more than chocolate, oat and milk aroma.Malt taste is good,a mellow smooth slight bitter stout.Finish full flavours, bitter roasted. eczematic (1170), Sydney, Australia May 6, 2008 Ah the fabled nail stout. Tastes a lot more like a robust porter - lots of chocolate malt and crystal malt flavour, as well as a tarry sam smith taddy porter sort of flavour - which is good. nice licorice/spicy bitter finish, with plenty of body. overall impression is quite sweet and thick in the mouth, a chewy beer. not a bad beer at all, almost lives up to the hype!
