Draft at Naked City Brewery in Greenwood. Rating #2000 as it happens, as the Seahawks were rolling to a victory over the 49rs. Darker brown-gold. Soft green hop. Malty backbone souring - bitter hops. Drying bitter. Solid.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Fiddler’s Inn. Pours clear copper with very little head (4 oz taster filled to the brim). Despite the lack of head space, this packed a big, fresh pine aroma, like a pine tree up my nose. In a good way -- not the way an actual pine tree up my nose would feel, which would be horrible. Taste: Restrained sweetness, just the right level of bitterness, with a lightly toasted finish. Creamy texture, medium body. Overall: the best beer of the night for me in a line-up of other hoppy beers. Very nice!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a hazy deep amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, sweet fruit and malt. Medium-bodied with a moderately bitter fruity hops character and notes of toasted malt and pine. The finish is hoppy with a lingering fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft at ncbc. Pours a hazy burnished dark amber with a loose and sudsy whitish head. Big sweet nose--showing pine and grapefruit and a bit of orange peel. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty darkened caramel on the mid palate, washing out into a dryly bitter resinous close.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Naked City. Pours a deep, transparent amber, with surprisingly little head. Wow is this ever fruity! Super sweet nose, with caramel-covered fruits. Hops start to shine in the flavor - there’s plenty in here - but I feel like this is off-balance. Let those hops take the show in a big IPA! Covers the 7.5% *too* well - this one is sticky sweet. I’d love it if they held back on the malts a bit (or used a variety that was a little lighter / less sticky), and added a bit more carbonation. Good effort - it’s a very tasty beer - but the recipe could probably use some tweaking.
