Oct 23, 2009 draft at naked city second anniversary. pours an opaque ebony with scant loose bubbles. nice dark fruit nose but very subdued. light, watery body. dark fruit and light cola notes on the mid palate. tasty.

Jul 12, 2009 Draft in a Chimay glass at Naked City. Pours a reddish brown with a dense, off-white head. Sweet, smokey malts, some Belgian yeast, with a dry finish. Undercarbonated, but it has a nice, bitter, woody finish. Lots of fruit and brown sugar, as well. Enjoyable, but it needs some stronger notes to offset that bland bitterness on the finish, and it needs a little more carbonation.

Aroma: Big sweet Belgian aroma with a great malt backing.
Appearance: Dark Amber in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Belgian flavor to go through three beers. Nice Belgian yeast and the malts where very tasty.
Palate: Dry finish, with a Good Belgian Mouthfeel.
Overall: This was a very good brew. Loved the flavors. I’m usually not a fan of the Belgians this brew was awesome.

Feb 8, 2009 brown sugar with some hoppy spruce elements. dark brown pour. Not overly flavorful, a touch too bitter perhaps.

Jan 17, 2009 Rich chestnut brown with a diffuse head that thickens and climbs along the rim. Little detectable aroma of malt notes. Flavor is uncharacteristic of a dubbel and skirts the line between a sour brown. Woodsy, malty, and with a sour wood component throughout. Some uric acid notes. Crisp ping to it. Piquant and altogether palate pleasing. A darn tasty brew from this Seattle upstart brewpub.

Jan 9, 2009 On tap at Naked City... This pours a dark brown with a nice bubbly head, some red hues, blah blah blah, it is a nice looking beer. The aroma is spicy with lots of fruity yeast, some dark fruit, banana, sweetness in a nice undescribed kind of way. It smells malty, fruity, and good. Tastes spicy, lots of yeast esters, banana, clove, sugar sweetness, toffee, bananas flambay or whatever... it is spicy, sweet, yet drinkable and tasty... Bubbly carbonation leads to a vibrant spicy character... nice sweetness... good shit going on... I have heard that these dudes can brew tasty beers... I am not really a fan of Belgian Dubbels, but this was nice and I would drink it more than once...I’m a ticker...
