Rather transparent black-brown body, with a singed head that bubbles up along the periphery and evanesces towards the center. A dose of charcoal deep roastiness piques the olfactory senses. A truly nice roasty sensibility about it. The body has decent roastiness, some soot, and a bit of dry cola on the finish. Medium-bodied. Nice flavor impact for the rather moderate mouthfeel.

Hints of smoke up front, roasted malts, a touch of bittersweet chooclate and earthy notes. Pours dark brown/black with a thin tan head. The flavor starts with a soft smokey notes, moves through chocolate and roast, and finishes dry and earthy with a combo of all the aformentioned flavors. Easy to drink witha nice smokey note. Decent little beer.

Draft at naked city. Clean brownish black with small light tan head. Rauch malt, touches of toasted nuts, chocolate, fig and dark bread. Smokey in the front, light coffee and coco nibs, bit of grainy malt in there, finishing with lingering smoke. Drinks easy but wouldn’t mind a bit more depth in flavors...in a porter sense.

Draft at ncbc. Pours a grainy dark mahogany with a light thin tan head. Mild roasty sweet black bread nose. Creamy medium body with light carb and a bit of chalkiness. Roast and chocolate on the mid palate. Mild chocolatey finish. Restrained and very drinkable. Would be nice with a bit more complexity in the aromatics.
