Sweet residual sugars and toasted brown bread. Fruity caramel as well.’ dark brown pour thin head. Flavors of sweet brown bread dark fruit a little toast. Fruity and sweet. Thick mouthfeel. Too sweet for me.

Bubble-gum amber body with tanned cream head. Light bubblegum malt nose. Candyish. Again, the body is candied and bubblegum, also accompanied by woody notes. Finish is sugary with a sticky sweetness enduring on the palate.

Schooner @ Naked City. Tastes more like a barleywine than anything else. Tastes soft up front but that doesn’t last long. Harsh and resinous hops battle with cloying sweetness. The result is confusing but this beer is smooth (especially given its abv) that much is forgiven.

Tap at Fiddlers.

An alt in the doppelsticke vein. Rich and liquor-like, thicker than expeceted at 8.5%. Sweet caramel, agar, and alcohol turning a less-than-optimal type of bitter on the long end of the finish.

Draft at sb. Pours a clear and very dark amber. Dense creamy tan mousse atop. Lots of sheety lace. Cherry sweet dense brown bread malty nose...delicious. Creamy thick body with satiny carb. Big big lager. Biggie alt, you might say. Caramel, brown bread, nougaty goodness mid palate. Long brown bread finish.
