Roasted nose with notes of chocolate and a decent sweet smokiness too. Dark brown pour with a beige head. The flavor is nice and roasty up front followed by hints of chocolate and then a nice sweet smokiness that moves from mid palate to finish. Nice mixture of roast/sweet/smoke. Drinks nicely, perhaps a little thin, but still very enjoyable. A nice smoked.

Draft at Naked City. Pours a dark blackish brown with small even khaki head. Light roast coffee and chocolate malts with balanced underlying smokey campfire. I’ve had this malt in 3-4 beers now in varying percentages and this is the first one that I really notice the cherrywood. Roasty malt up front, coffee notes mostly, light cherrywood smoke in the middle that turns slightly acidic then phenolic and finish on the dry side.
