3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a 64 OZ growler, mailed Wednesday from NY State cracked Friday in Maryland. Poured with a 1/2 inch head the color of wet sand. The head quickly dissipated into lace. The liquor was clear but quite dark; it more resembled a stout than a porter, frankly. The aroma was sweet and chocolate (a word that Iím about to repeat). The attack AND finish were curiously similar, both chocolatey, but the attack begins as sweeter chocolate on the tip of the tongue and finishes with the bittering hops showing itself. The mouthfeel is full and creamy. Iím told this is not available in bottles, nor in Maryland, which is a shame, as it stands up to the best sweet porters Iíve drunk. And at 5.5 ABV, you can have more than one. We did. . .

Delicious and drinkable. Just the right level of bitterness. Cocoa and mild coffee with a solid hop backbone.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Fantastic aroma of bitter dark chocolate, coffee and slightly smoky. Pours in accordance to style dark with a nice tan creamy head. Taste is complex with rich bitter chocolate notes, coffee, and burnt sugar, roasty smokey matly flavor and carries a more complex hop bill than the typical porter notes pine and spicy hop bitterness that pairs with the dark chocolate for an amazing ale. Definitely, a bitter/sweet interpretation of this style...I love it! It feels nice on the palate moderate weight with great flavor complexity that is not to rich to session. Hats off to NAKED DOVE! I even was able to sample this one right out of the Tank!!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Flahertyís in Macedon. Dark, almost black in color with a cream colored head. Beer was thick and rich tasting. Smooth in the mouth with a roasted chocolate malt taste. Definitely one of the best porters Iíve had.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On Tap at the new bar on the RIT campus, park point area. A nice standard dark pour. Some chocolate and alot of roast. Reminded me more of an English porter. I had a Rohrbachís porter just before this which I prefer more.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Anchor Bar downtown. Great stuff. Dark, heavy looking, thick head. Nose big on roasted/toasted notes along with coffee. Palate was oily rich and smooth, and at times seemed like a chocolate milkshake. This was really well done and should be a standby beer for me in Rochester.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at the Red Dove Brewmasterís Brunch. This was my favorite of the bunch. A very dark black color with a light tan head of cream. The aroma lets me know that this is a roasty porter as opposed to a chocolaty one. The flavors are well-blended roasted malts and bitter American hops. The body and mouthfeel a big, without huge alcohol. I wanted to chug this one.
