Outside of microbreweries, there are very few commercial beers that capture the malty taste that I enjoy in a beer, but Tafel does just that. I’m not sure I would agree with the consideration of Tafel as a smooth beer, but the CO2 accentuates the flavour, dissipating it across the palate.

Gul i färgen, vitt skum. Doftar svagt av malt gräs sött, fruktigt. Smakar söt malt, gräs, fruktigt, unken eftersmak. Vattnig och trist.

Slightly amber straw colour. No head. The aroma is mostly sticky pale malts. The bitterness is low and the malts are not especially pleasurable. Underhopped, one of the weaker Namibian beers.

Sweet hay aroma.
Light sweetness, light bitterness, slightly salty.
Very fizzy on the tongue, light/medium bodied.
A easy drinking summer sun beer.

Bottle from Cape Town store. Golden, with scant head. What a stench this emits. Really harsh sawdust. Palate is watery with lively carbonation but it is plastic and sweet. This is terrible :(

Bottles in campsites in Namibia August 2012.Beer bought in local supermarkets.Light golden color.Little to medium aroma.A bit weak and thin beer. Only 4 % alcohol. It has more taste than Windhoek Lager and is absolutely a nice thirst quencher.

Can shared with ClubGonzo. Has a clear straw yellow colour with a very small white head. Aromas of pale malt, hay, grass, sweet corn and some fresh berries. The flavour is a bit sweet with hay and sweet corn. The mouth feel is watery, thin and a bit slick. Light bitterness. Not a bad beer, just boring.

Can, courtesy of and shared with Foffern, thanks man! :-) My first Namibian beer, and Foffern’s too, I think. We pop it open and share. Light golden body, small white head. Nose is pale malts and vague hints of red berry fruitiness. Pale malt sweetness with assertive blandness. :-P One in a million, but no major faults at least.
