duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Apr 10, 2008 Cask. Yikes pretty artificial in flavour, very sweet, cordial sort of flavours coming through. Artificial plum flavour. Mouth feel is flat and flabby, and the sweetness never gos away. Not good.
Ethereal (724), London, Greater London, England Jun 27, 2008 Cask, JDW, 4th April 2008. A novelty beer to round off the JDW festival. Mid brown appearance. Smells of plums, taste of plums - extremely sweet. Like eating a plum fool. Sticky sweet in the mouth. A beer to have once. bobinlondon (215), Harrow, Greater London, England Jun 17, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Watford and several other outlets during their spring festival. I can’t really make my mind up about this one! It has no beery flavours at all (for that matter neither do most lambics). It doesn’t even taste alcoholic! Plum juice is about the only flavour that I can use to describe it. It is without doubt a very pleasent refreshing drink that makes a nice change from many of the very similar cask bitters around today. I think it would be an excellent "hair of the dog" drink to consume with breakfast when suffering a hangover. The lack of alcoholic taste would make it very easy to swallow! berkshire_john (983), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jun 16, 2008 Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Slightly hazy brown with a purple tint, and a creamy off-white head; distinct plum aroma; the taste is clean and refreshing with lots of sweet plum flavour; there is a short-lived bitterness, but the finish is predominantly plummy. Great if you like plums! leaparsons (3804), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Apr 24, 2008 Cask, The Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Red amber with a small head. Aromas are sweet syrupy plum with hints of citrus. Flavours are very sweet sugary plum with sweet toffee. Some citrus sharpness. Very sweet. Mes_and_Sim (3967), London, Greater London, England Apr 16, 2008 A Mes rate: cask at the Counting Hoose McSporks in Glasgow. Comically bad beer with plums in it. Honestly, that’s all I have to say.
