500 ml bottle, as "Rycerskie." Bright, translucent oily gold, bubbly with an immense lasting white head...strong grassy/earthy nose with fascinating minty/medicinal character emergent...dryish grassiness in the body with faint sweet underpinning that grows stronger with warmth, alcohol emerges only near the finish after 1/2 hour of warming. Quite interesting, if not truly wonderful.

The initial scent was earthy with a slightly moldy aroma. A malty medium bodied taste follows, with a somewhat fruity sweetness (appple). Light finish and unique flavor with the malt and sweeteness noticeable. A little moderating of the temperature and the scent takes on dead flowers. Once again, the flavor follows, mellowing a bit and including a flowery taste to the sweetness, along with a fruity undertone and malt taste still dominating. I found it interesting and enjoyable - scoring points for creativeness.

09.02.05 500ml bottle labeled Rycerski. Bit hazy golden pour with persistent small white head. Odd aroma is wet grain, toasty-malty, sweet and fruity like cereal with blueberries, light perfumes, and someting like vegetable broth. Huh. Herby flavors atop lots of cereal maltiness. Thin bodied but soft, very dry finish. At no point do I notice the big 7%. Worth the buck fifty, that’s for sure.

Sampled at NY Brewfest. This poured a light brown, clear body. Some head - probably due to the n00b tap-slave. The beer itself was really smooth and some good flavor. Didnt taste the alcohol.

Unique aroma - combination of fruit, funky cheese, green beans, and malt (Lublin hops, maybe?). Slightly hazy orange-gold color, decent white head. Pretty clean malt flavor, hint of hop flavor and bitterness in the finish. Medium-full body, pretty smooth. Aroma kind of scared me, but it ended up being a flavorful but clean strong lager.
