COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The most traditional of the Nani Moon collection, Ginger Spice Mead still manages to add a taste of the tropics. Blended with island honey, starfruit, ginger, black tea, and winter spices, this mead features a unique complexity. Slightly sweeter than the rest, yet still smooth and easy to drink. Great for those Hawaiian winter nights where the mountain breezes create a chill. Share a bottle for thanksgiving or throughout the holidays and be prepared to have a second bottle ready!

Sampled at the Meadery...very spice forward mead with huge ginger and honey. This is a sipper and would be good after you lit your head on fire with spicy Thai food.

Sampled at Clockwork’s 4K/5K/10K gathering 2013. Bottle pours a clear body with no lacing. Aroma is is light honey, ginger and tea. Mouthfeel is medium - pretty drinkable and somewhat pleasant overall despite the strange burnt rubber character - nothing incredible though.

Bottle shared by Max at the 4k/5k/10k tasting. Honey sweetness, ginger and iced tea, and a hint of generic fruits. I found this to be quite drinkable.

Bottle at James’s 4k/5k/10k tasting. Pours a mostly clear gold with no head. Big ginger and a good hint of spices, a strange new shoe smell, fresh rubber. Spicy with more rubbery notes, weird. Spicy on the finish, more rubbery tires and ginger. Strange.

Synthethic cork bottle from Food Pantry, Waikiki, HI
The color is light amber, not completely clear. The aroma of ginger and cinnamon is quite strong and also fresh. It’s very dry, which doesn’t fit too much with the alcohol perception; the ginger and cinnamon flavor is average; there is not much mead or honey flavor here; the ginger adds, at least, a hot kick; the dryness allows to the typical mead soapiness to appear in the final.
I’m not fascinated by this.

Sample at the meadery. Easily my favorite of the bunch. Aroma of ginger and black tea. Very spicy. Taste brings a more complex variety of flavors to go along with the ginger and the tea. A bit of honey sweetness and even a touch of smoke in there. Definitely a good sipper for the winter months.

Pale gold apperaance with a spicy aroma, most notably of black tea muskiness. Nice spiced tea medley of flavors. Only a prick of ginger on the back of the palate. Thinnish body. A nice winter mead.
