COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nantahala Brewing Company’s inaugural beer is made with pale malt and a generous amount of crystal malts. In addition to the copious amounts of pellet hops used in the kettle, we run is through our uniquely designed “hop back” which mingles fresh hop flowers with the wort on the way to the fermenter. This process, along with dry hopping, produces a piney, grapefruit and grassy aroma and helps contribute to a crisp, dry finish.

Damn fine fruity nose, hints of pale malts, a touch of caramel perhaps, lots of citrus and floral hops, pine. Solid hop aroma. Yes. Pours golden, nice head and lace. The flavor is nice and quenching burst of citrus, pine, and floral hops. Light malt base provides just a bit of sweetness and a little balance. Mostly bright and engaging with hops. Love the lower ABV. Drank the whole growler and felt great the next day. Good shit here!

Draft at tap room. Nice notes of pine on the nose. The pine flavor is infused throughout the beer so even when it just sits there on the tongue you can taste the pine. Finishes nice.

On tap at Mac’s speed shop, nice orange color, great citrus flavor. Stealing this from previous review, "rivals most west coast IPA’s", forgive me can’t recall your name. Did not expect much from this because I’ve actually drank Nantahala water Really suprised will order this again.

Orange pour with watery white head. Huge sweet caramel malt aroma, resiny hops, and a citrus kicker. Sweet malt resiny/perfumy hops with a very nice bitter finish. Nice balance. Medium full bodied but just a tad fizzy. A very nice beer.

On tap. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of hop oils, pot, sweet citrus, lime, caramel malt. Flavor is mellow with plenty of hop oils, citrus and caramel malt. Great ipa, so drinkable! Great hops to malt ratio, with hops winning. Awesome stuff. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

Draft at the brewpub. Nicely inviting orange-yellow pour, somewhat opaque and cloudy. Drinks with a sharply acidic bite, and a bitter orange finish. Quite quenching and drinkable. (#4323, 10/6/2011)

Draft at 12 Bones in Asheville. Slightly hazed golden orange body with a sturdy offwhite head. Hoppy aroma with citrusy grapefruit and pine resin. Medium body and carbonation. Clean pale malts with a hint of honey sweetness barely balances the assertive hops. Grapefruit and pine, with hints of florals underneath. Crisp and dry finish. What a great pint to enjoy with good bbq.
