COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nantahala Brewing Company’s inaugural beer is made with pale malt and a generous amount of crystal malts. In addition to the copious amounts of pellet hops used in the kettle, we run is through our uniquely designed “hop back” which mingles fresh hop flowers with the wort on the way to the fermenter. This process, along with dry hopping, produces a piney, grapefruit and grassy aroma and helps contribute to a crisp, dry finish.

Damn fine fruity nose, hints of pale malts, a touch of caramel perhaps, lots of citrus and floral hops, pine. Solid hop aroma. Yes. Pours golden, nice head and lace. The flavor is nice and quenching burst of citrus, pine, and floral hops. Light malt base provides just a bit of sweetness and a little balance. Mostly bright and engaging with hops. Love the lower ABV. Drank the whole growler and felt great the next day. Good shit here!

Slightly cloudy gold, decent head. Nice hoppy aroma - lots of citrus and some other fruity notes. Flavor si pretty much what you’d expect, given the aroma - grapefruit and other citrus flavors, with maybe a touch of brown sugar. Very tasty. Brewgrass 2010.

Appearance: Lightly hazed, golden-yellow body with a sustained, just barely off-white head fed by some streaks of sustained carbonation. Smell: Citrusy, fruity grapefruit aroma, growing a bit as it warms, and paired with pine resins and lightly floral hints. Yeah, you’ve got some malt accents of pale malted barley and honey, but, predominately, it’s a hoppy nose. Taste: Pale malts with hints of honey and a flash of sweetness, then, resinous pine, white grapefruit lending plenty of pith and a slight citric quality. Moderately bitter. Meager malty rebound gives a bit more honey and golden syrup. Drying, bitter finish with a lingering resinous flavor in the mouth. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight discernible oiliness to the mouthfeel. Drinkability: A good, no-nonsense, punchy IPA.

Orange pour with watery white head. Huge sweet caramel malt aroma, resiny hops, and a citrus kicker. Sweet malt resiny/perfumy hops with a very nice bitter finish. Nice balance. Medium full bodied but just a tad fizzy. A very nice beer.

Thanks, Lee! Man, this was one awesome session IPA from the Bryson City posse. Bright orange pour with a moderate cloudiness to it that just screamed fresh as hell. Huge floral bouquet with bittering notes and a streak of malt to measure. But the huge, bright, fruitiness is what really dominates this beer, and that’s all to the good. Loved it.

Growler at Pre Sex. Thanks lady. Pours a clean translucent yellow with one finger of white head. Nose is super hoppy with lots of citrus and green hop character, leafy and resinous. Flavor is rich and resinous with some garlic and citrus rind, oily. Palate is dry and resinous. Very nice IPA.
