COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Take our Devils Courthouse age it in French oak, red wine barrels with Elderberry and you’ve got our third release. Rich, fruity. Add fall color and you’ve got a perfect paring.

With the same spirit of big challenges and a desire to connect our brews with the wilderness that surrounds us, the third in our Trail Magic Ale release is a refreshing Belgian Golden Strong Ale aged in French Oak, Red Wine Barrels with Elderberry. The overtones from the locally sourced french oak red wine barrels pair harmoniously with the addition of elderberry to give this Barrel Aged Belgian the colorful spirit of a Great Smoky Mountain Fall.

Bottle. Thanks Ryan. Cloudy orange. Some lacing. A hint of sour. Not sure what an elderberry is but it sounds like the cousin of a dingleberry. It's interesting as I'm not a big fan of Belgium beers but it's my fourth so I'm good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bomber. Pours murky amber/orange with little head. Fruity/wine-y aroma. This one has a STRONG flavor. The wine flavor even manages to come through the strong Belgian Ale flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared thanks to decaturstevo at RBWG! Pours a clear copper gold with fluffy white head and light lacing. Aroma of belgian yeast esters, sour fruits, and a slight astringency. Taste follows, nice fruity esters but a bit boozy. Pretty solid, but I wanted a little bit more.

First! Clear amber. Very fruity nose. Lemon zest. Guessing it would be the elderberries for the none citrus fruitiness. Surprisingly good.
