Light, refreshing but packed full of flavor, the Lemongrass Imperial India Pale ale offers some spicy relief from the heat of summer.

With the spirit of big challenges and a desire to connect our brews with the wilderness that surrounds us, the second in our Trail Magic Ale release, is a refreshing, citrus infused Lemongrass Imperial India Pale Ale. Along with our liberal use of Lemongrass and Sorachi Ace Hops, fresh lemon zest and wildflower honey give this Imperial IPA the adventurous soul of a Great Smoky Mountain Summer.

On tap at the brewery plus a bottle later. Based on the other review i would say it was not had on tap. Orange colored pour with a white head on it. Lemon, citrus scent with plenty of hops. Taste hoppy, sweet full of lemons on tap...bottle lacks that citrus note. The tap version is awesome, bottle...not really. Tap would be a 4. Bottle is a 3. Average is 3.5

From notes. Tasted on 6/30/12 at the 1st Annual Chimipalooza. Pours clear copper with an average white head that leaves average lace. The nose is citrus and cinnamon spice, plenty of hops, with some caramel malt. The flavor has some light sweetness up front, moving to the same citrus, lemongrass, and cinnamon bitterness. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long lemongrass and bitter hops finish.

Draft in a flight at the brewery. My favorite beer I had the brewery today. The lemongrass imparts a great citrus overtone to the entire brew, almost making you forget this is a badass hoppy Double IPA. Glad I found this one.

Not so good, old clothes, moth balls, baby powder, antique. No lemongrass flavor present, in fact this is more of an earthy IPA than a citrus one.
