4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle from Tiffany's, Kalamazoo MI. Daaaaark brown pour the color of antique dark wood that's almost black. Head was dense and similar to that of cola, about a half inch high. Aroma is: Malt, yeast, root beer and charred smokiness, in that order from most to least. Medium body, medium low carbonation. Very balanced flavor with a really clean finish. Tastes of cola, pie spices like nutmeg, all spice, maybe some mole? Holy crap this is a good beer from one of my new favorite breweries.

Imperial porter på 8%, hade förvänta mig mer. Rött lätt i kroppen och smaken, ABVn skiner igenom lite i smaken.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle. The pour is a deep brown, with a reddish transparency to it. The head is moderate and nice tan color. It fades down pretty quickly and leaves a light film and minimal lacing. The aroma is sweet. There is a lot of licorice and malt. The finish on the aroma is a light chocolate. The taste is very similar. It's a little thicker than I thought it would be. There is the licorice and malt that dominate, and the back end is more of a chocolate milk kind of aftertaste. Pretty good

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 30 Aug 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with dark rye bread, raisins and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, raisins, dark rye bread, coffee, caramel and a certain sweetness in a finish with a balanced cocoa bitterness. Almost full body, with some sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Very nice.

Bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Nice complexity to this beer. Aroma is chocolate, smoke, roast, and ripe fruit. Fairly sweet, but some dryness kicks in and mellows things out. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with ruby red highlights, smallish head but good retention and decent lace. Strong coffee aromas accompanied by cocoa nips, chocolate and dark cherries. Bittersweet chocolate flavors up front, supported by caramel malt sweetness, coffee, grassy hops bitterness, dark fruit and a hint of alcohol. Full body, creamy silky smooth mouthfeel, low carbonation, and a lingering bittersweet finish.
