Nose of sweet malts, and chocolate, with notes vanilla. Pours a solid black with a short lived tan head and minimal lacing. The pallet provides a taste of milk chocolate, toasted malts, and caramel. Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a excellent imperial porter. Rich and smooth. Well done Napa Smith.

Pours near black with little head. Scent is pretty nice, bit of chocolate. Was expecting smokiness from the name, this was not the case. Instead what you have is a very smooth taste of chocolate and dark fruit. Tasty stuff.

Imperial porter på 8%, hade förvänta mig mer. Rött lätt i kroppen och smaken, ABVn skiner igenom lite i smaken.

22 oz bottle. The pour is a deep brown, with a reddish transparency to it. The head is moderate and nice tan color. It fades down pretty quickly and leaves a light film and minimal lacing. The aroma is sweet. There is a lot of licorice and malt. The finish on the aroma is a light chocolate. The taste is very similar. It's a little thicker than I thought it would be. There is the licorice and malt that dominate, and the back end is more of a chocolate milk kind of aftertaste. Pretty good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 30 Aug 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with dark rye bread, raisins and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, raisins, dark rye bread, coffee, caramel and a certain sweetness in a finish with a balanced cocoa bitterness. Almost full body, with some sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Very nice.

Bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Nice complexity to this beer. Aroma is chocolate, smoke, roast, and ripe fruit. Fairly sweet, but some dryness kicks in and mellows things out. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice beer.
