Bottle:   Deep cola pour, nearly black, thin to moderate sudsy head, tannish, spotty lacing.   Soft cocoa nose, roasty, some minor sour notes, very very minor tho. &nbps I aged this one about 6 months or so.   Smooth roasty flavor up front, a little tart, minor dryness on the backside.   Not a heavy sweet example of an imperial Porter.   Has a bit of cocoa on the backside, amongst the roastiness and ash/charred wood.   Respectable example.   I may have waited a little too long as its a tad tart.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Lingering soft dark pitted fruit, a little ashy, a bit of dark cocoa or bakers chocolate linger.   Respectable example, one that I should have tried a little sooner.

rather mild for something labeled as an imperial porter, decent roasted grains and mild coffee and cocoa notes. not bad.

Pours a deep mahogany with reddish hues and a minimal head that quickly fades. Minimal lacing. Heavy, caramel malt aroma with hints of berries. Taste is true to the aroma with a sweet finish. Not bad, but a little sweeter than typical of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for the Daystrom M-5

Smells of Dark bread. Smooth in taste and pretty plain. Not very strong like i would thick of a imperial porter.

A very good porter. Not very imperial, almost more barleywine. Smells of fruit and wine or port. Taste is very sweet, with not much hops. Very good! Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is toasted with metallic hops, coffee, chocolate, and mixed grains. The appearance is brown with a tan head. The taste is like the aroma . The palate is smooth. Overall decent but thats it.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a dark brown/orange color with a khaki head. The aroma is anise, black licorice, a little ashy roast, caramel and cocoa. The flavor is the same. Carmel and cocoa with a roasted malt finish. A touch of minerals. A nice laid back brew for an imperial.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear, dark amber brown with a minimal dirty-tan head. Aromas of chocolate, and caramel. Taste is fairly sweet with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, cola, and dark fruit. Body is full, creamy, and smooooth, with a long, sweet, finish. Carbonation is lively. To be honest, there just isn’t much wrong with this beer. Grab one and enjoy! I know I will be!!
