3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was a nice take on an Oktoberfest. The addition of grapes added a touch of fruity sweetness that made this a good thirst quencher.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle -
A really interesting twist on a "fest" beer. Definitely grapey/malt sweetness in the aroma. Mouthfeel is slightly more sticky than a standard beer, due probably to the grapes used. Subtle grape flavors but definitely there, light toasted notes, and maybe some apple juice. Definitely fruity and again, an interesting spin on an Oktoberfest beer. Great buy for $5.99 a sixer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Hazy, dark golden, with a tight off white head, and decent lacing.
Malty aromas, bready, grainy. Left to warm, then agitated, the grape aroma comes out. It’s hiding in there, maybe a sauv blanc.
Flavor has some malty sweetness, with a grassy hop back, and some grapefruit, presumably from the grapes.
Definitely needs to be poured and left to warm for a few minutes to get the full flavor and aroma.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
At Thursday’s Total Wine Autumn beer tasting class. Grapes add complexity to a standard amber lager. Some grapes on the nose. I’d try this again.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured one finger of head on a orange/medium straw colored body.
The aroma is caramel, ripe grapes and orange. It’s all fairly faint though.
The taste is watery, grape and woody sweetness and mild pine bitterness.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
It’s a weak ale overall with a mildly interesting grape flavor.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy amber colored pour. Small off-white head. No lacing. A grainy, malty aroma. Slightly fruity, but more grainy than anything. Taste is malty and grainy. Almost like grapenuts. Very good. Sweet and malty in the finish.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewpub. It pours a clear dark golden body and a dense finger this off-white head. Sweeties malty aroma with some grassy, fruity hops. Sweet flavor too, some hop flavors but not much. Decent bitterness though. Medium body, soft carbonation. Sweet in the finish as well. A rather uninteresting one. 130807

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Type: 12.0-oz. bottle
Glass: Firestone tap room pint glass
From: World Market in La Mesa (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 11, 2013
Consumed: July 12, 2013
Poured a caramel amber murky color with what seemed to be chunks, seeds or pulp and two fingers of frothy white head. Watery foggy layer of lacing on the sides of the glass. Good retention all the way down.
Smelled malty dark fruits initially. Grape, plum, dates, figs, earthy, grainy, honey and iced tea.
Tasted even maltier than the smell. Got dark fruits in grapes, dates, figs, plums and faint dark cherries. Also oatmeal (I know), honey, caramel, creamy and iced tea. Lots of butter characteristics as well.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Buttery, long finish.
Light body. Thin-to-oily texture. Soft-to-average carbonation. Bitter, dry finish.
Actually had high hopes for this beer, but it just didn’t materialize. I wouldn’t have it again.
