UPDATED: JAN 4, 2013 Boy this tastes d e l i c i o u s. Bitter and sweet is what I look for in an IPA. They could go in a lot of other directions with this tweaking it toward Belgium styles.

22oz bottle. Rating #44. Dense and murky brown pour with a nice tan head. Very dank hop aroma, a bit of oine and citrus mashed together. More dank hops in the flavor as well, light caramel sweetness and above average bitterness. (2500)

Draft at the Yardhouse, Palisades mall. Copper reddish in color with a nice off white head that left a nice lacing. Hoppy citrusy aroma. Caramel citrusy earthy flavor. Full bodied. Very drinkable. Dry finish.

22oz bottle. Murky copper with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet caramel, citrus, pine resin, oak and alcohol. Flavor is more sweet caramel, medium bitter hops and some light boozy oak/alcohol. Medium body with a sticky mouth feel. This is one of those IIPA/Barley Wines, really nice either way. There is a fair amount of sweetness but the hops and high abv help balance it out.

Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, candied orange, light earthiness and a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, candied orange, earthiness and pine with a smooth dry lingering bittersweet finish.

Really smooth imperial. A lot of west coast style hops coming thru with citrus and some spice. Strong hops but not harsh, with a real clean finish.

Herby, leafy hops on the aroma. Darkened copper with almost no foam at all. Taste is boozey with flavors of nuts, herbs, sage and some biscuit malt. There is a very subtle fruity flavor hiding in the back of the palate. Overall, not as good as I had expected. Nevertheless, it is a well done brew with moderately complex flavors. I’d give this a B+ rating.

This golden brown beer pours with very little head. It is surprisingly not too bitter for a beer with this name. It has a fruity almost sweet taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
