Translucent copper with a thin but lasting beige head. Medium body with medium carbonation.
Aroma: ctrusy american hops, caramel and pretzel malt.
Taste: fruity citrus hops, pale malt sweetness, complex fruity wine notes.
Complex and fruity with plenty of hop aroma and malt sweetness. Well-balanced. Wine notes increase in tanic astringency through the second pint.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2013 Boy this tastes d e l i c i o u s. Bitter and sweet is what I look for in an IPA. They could go in a lot of other directions with this tweaking it toward Belgium styles.

Bottle at Ölrepubliken.
Very clody dark amber. Rather weak head.
Very nice hopiness with citrus, pomerans, and everything. Good good.

bottle. citrus nose with bread, tea and pinch of cocoa. medium full body, but refreshing. not overly sticky or sweet. not overly bitter either. a good balance to say the least. lots of sweet hop resins(pine, apricot, lychee) with toast, caramel, butter, hints of licorice. another great one from these guys.

Can smell the fresh hops right away. Sat arts with some sweetness and then the complexity of the different hops hits you. Well balanced, and love the hint of oak from the wine barrels. Exactly what a northwest imperial ipa should be.

Poured from bomber into a snifter glass. Appearance: Dark orange almost red in color. Pour left it with a good finger and a half head on it. Head was tight white bubbles. Lasted a little while but gave way to a ring around the glass with good head lacing. Good amount of carbonation. Aroma: I pick up huge hop aromas right at the beginning. You can get the piney, citrusy notes very easily. I loved the smell and was impressed. Taste: First thing is bitter like a sour candy! Itís powerful but enjoyable at the same time. The first sip is always surprising. A mix of citrus fruits especially grapefruit run all through this. After taste was just perfect for me. Lasts the right amount of time to get you ready for the next swig. Note: I noticed as it warmed the flavors stayed around but the sweetness became more enhanced. I really enjoyed that mix with the bitterness of the hops. Kind of like going from white grapefruit juice to ruby red in comparison. Verdict: I really really like this beer. Itís fast becoming a favorite. I grabbed 3 bombers when it came out and Iím glad I did. Iíll be working this into a regular rotation as long as I can get it. Great for a last summer drink. It does everything I like about an Imperial IPA while bringing the bonus of the sweetness as the beer warms. Grab a bottle and try it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma- Very strong grapefruit/hoppy smell with a noticeable amount of malt for an Imperial IPA, must come from the aging process the beer goes through in the Chardonnay and Cabernet barrels. Noticed a bit of alcohol on the nose.
Appearance- The beer has a gorgeous copper/ orange appearance. Good amount of carbonation. I poured a two finger head. The head itself is frothy looking a white/ light beige color.
Taste- Bitter sweet. I got a mix of grapefruit and orange flavors. You would think at 144 IBUís this would just be a straight hop bomb, but its very well balanced. Smooth, didnít notice any of the alcohol. Finishes clean, leaves the palate asking for more.
Overall- Great beer, I definitely recommend this beer. Iím going to buy a couple more bombers.

Bomber from Liquor Barn in Redding, CA. Pours brilliant copper with a foamy 3 finger (call it beige) head. Aroma of nicely roasted caramel with a lot of vinous and citrus aroma aspects. Full bodied, nearly. Flavor is roast caramel, but smoothly roasted, with a lot of hop. A lot of light stone fruit. A lot of vinosity. A lot of oak hints. This is pretty complex stuff. It is not NW harsh, but it seems to have as much hop as the biggest NW IPAs. Subtle in a way. Brash for sure. This is clearly a well thought out monster. Probably prevents cancer. Finishes brilliantly deliteful.
