3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jimthechap (1193) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - APR 30, 2013
Bright amber colour with a plentiful, coarsely fluffy cream coloured head. I do like the colour of a red ale. The aroma is of lush fruity malts. It really smells of peach tart and some grassy hoppiness. It’s a simple description but I want to emphasise that the aroma is beautiful. It has a prickly carbonation and then out comes a flow of lush darker citrus and caramelised orchard fruits given by the malts. There is also a zingy zesty citrus coming from hops that I find rather endearing. The bitterness is fairly subtle. I came into this beer thinking that the aroma hops would be accompanied by a massive rush of bittering but it had a certain restraint about it that I didn’t expect. This is the sort of ale I would quite like to brew myself with a few changes to the hop varieties and abv. However, this incarnation is lovely.

Bottle. Murky reddish orange pour with a small head. Kind of a boozy dusty caramel pour, taste is almost a foul sour. Not a fan of this.

-Bready malty aroma with big woody hop aroma
-Pours hazy light amber color with lasting creamy yellowish white head
-Strong bready biscuity flavor with balanced amount of woody earthy hops.
- Medium bodied, medium CO2, bitter earthy finish
-well balanced brew. Like a better version of fat tire. I would be happy to drink a few of these into the night.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kambei70 (303) - - APR 15, 2013
2013 bottle to a pint glass. Pours a clear amber/orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma is a sweet sorghum smell with a grainy quality. Taste is a sweet malt with some floral bitterness in the middle. Some caramel comes through in the end with the bitterness tasting more herbal as it lingers on the tongue. A medium thick mouthfeel.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 mikemccarthy (87) - Huntington, West Virginia, USA - APR 9, 2013
Pours an opaque amber with a thin, white head that quickly fades. Minimal lacing. Subtle, slightly floral aroma hinting of a hoppy experience. Creamy mouthfeel with very slight effervescence. Sour taste. Odd, almost vanilla finish. Not very good.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a rather dark orange/gold color with an off white head. The aroma is bready malt, a little dark fruit and floral hops. The flavor is caramel, bread, and some fruity/floral hops in the finish. Low carbonation. A bit weak on the palate for such a big beer. Ho hum.
