2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours an opaque amber with a thin, white head that quickly fades. Minimal lacing. Subtle, slightly floral aroma hinting of a hoppy experience. Creamy mouthfeel with very slight effervescence. Sour taste. Odd, almost vanilla finish. Not very good.

Bottle. Pour is a dark red with a small white head. Aroma is a sweet caramel malt. Flavor is more dark malts but a little medicinal and sour. Finish has a little alcohol. Just ok.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. It pours a rather dark orange/gold color with an off white head. The aroma is bready malt, a little dark fruit and floral hops. The flavor is caramel, bread, and some fruity/floral hops in the finish. Low carbonation. A bit weak on the palate for such a big beer. Ho hum.

Lost Dog is a mix of bitter pale and maltiness with citrusy hop notes. Not much aroma but pour and amber color is nice. Not too bad but a little too much sweetness.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Hazy reddish brown brew with small tan head. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste is dominated by sweet malt, a little caramel and some bitter near the finish, but still ends very sweet. The ABV is well hidden.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy amber-auburn color. Aroma is much sweeter than I expected. Very malty on the nose. Flavor is much of the same. Whoa nelly this has some malty sweetness that I didn’t expect for a 7.2% ale. You can definitely taste a flutter of the hop background but this is all kinds of sweet crystal malt going on here. Very nice.

We had this at the 2013 Tops of the Hops in the VIP section.Rob usually really likes reds, but he wasn’t a fan of this one. I, on the other hand, thought it was excellent. It was one of my favorite beers of the night, and we tried about 60!
