3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
a sweet malt backbone gives way to moderate bitterness, and citrus, grassy and earthy hops. Not bad, not great.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This IPA smells really delicious of grapefruit, fresh lawned grass and tropical fruits. Foam is moderate and sustained. The taste is very fruity on the hoppy shape, peach, blood orange, grapefruit and pineapple. From the beginning it hops which is the main theme of this IPA. It is almost a reverse IPA where the hops flavor comes first and then comes the malt flavor and ends with a little sweetness. Malt are light toffee, but obviously limited to the minimum. How this is possible, I can not figure out, but the fact is a tasteful, rich and delicious IPA. Carbonation is soft and delicious and gives it a nice mouth feeling where the aftertaste lasts a long time. delicious IPA.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml bottle sampled April 2014. Unclear dark orange body with a fine off-white head. Aroma is quite malty with dry fruit, marmalade and slightly caramel. Flavor is sweet, rich malty, citric fruity, dry fruit, caramel malt and good bitterness. Medium body and quite bitter aftertaste with a malt base. Decent IPA on the malty side.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Flaska systembolaget. Bärnstensfärgad vätska. Frän och ganska kraffull doft av barr, hö och torkad frukt. Viss fruktighet.
Påtaglig bitterhet i smaken med tallskott, sirapslimpa och torkad frukt.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma is sweet and malty. A pretty heavy sweetness even. Taste is as sweet as a mouthful of hay together with over ripe canned tangerines

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the Systembolaget Hansacompagniet, Malmo. Poured a hazy reddish amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is bretty sour citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sour with a crisp refreshing brett yeast light hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The most sour bretty "IPA" I ever had, but rather drinkable all the same.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle) Amber colour with lasting, frothy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with caramel, orange peel, apricot marmalade, a touch of resin and floral, citric hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, orange peel, resin, apricot marmalade, grapefruit and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Fairly bitter, but quite well balanced with a good dose of caramel malt. Nice one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I like it, Amber clear with white thick head..perhaps a bit sweet but I with a full malty aftertaste. Not bad at all and I like that it is not as hoppy as most west coast IPAs, it is perhaps in that respect not so west coast. Almost reminds me of a boston ale...

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(35 cl bottle from Systembolaget; BBD: October 2014) Interesting to taste an IPA brewed by Don Barkley but a bit peculiar that it has been revied only by Scandinavian raters. Pours a semi-clear amber with two finger tan head. Decent retention and beautiful lace. Aroma is resiny with perhaps some leafy, earthy hints of hops and a note of candy sugar. Oily texture, medium carbonation, medium to full body and a lingering finish. Flavour is rather sweet for what they call a west coast IPA. This must be pretty old school if so. I’m much more partial to the dry, hop-forward IPA’s and it seems to me there is not much aroma in this one disappointingly. Could be due to age also.
