3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This bubbly yellow gold beer poured with a nice white head and a banana aroma. There is a clean crisp pale malt flavor with some nice hopping, producing a beer that is not as sweet as most wheat beers. There is moderate carbonation and a slight banana ester finish.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from the Coop in Davis, CA. Dark golden color with a fizzy/frothy white head that didn’t stay very long. Aroma is strongly grassy over grain. Near medium body with frothy little bubbles. Flavor is grain with something like saaz. Slight touch of fruit. There seem to be pepper bits. It is astringent. My mouth wants to pucker. This is a slick product. There is no down side, except it’s a wheat beer. I wonder if this is being produced at the former sake brewery at HiWays 12 and 29?* And if so, are they using those brewers? These ales seem as well crafted as Budweiser. Not to say I’m recommending Bud, but AB does have the craft down pat. These guys seem to too.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Clear light golden beer with a whitish head. Toasted wheat/malt aroma. Wheat/cereal flavor with a bit of spice and fruitiness. Medium body. Wheat starts to linger with a bit of fruitiness and spice. Nothing too strong in flavor. Unoffensive, but doesn’t stand out. Easy drinking and refreshing.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
22 ounce bottle purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Never heard of these guys before. Aroma has plenty of toasted cereal grains, with some light wheat notes. A little estery, but not too much in the way of bananas and cloves. Transparent golden body with an average white head. Starts off pretty sweet and heavy on the toasted malts. Has some light wheat flavors in the middle, with more lingering sweetness later on. Not much going on here. Carbonation is light, and this might be a little underattenuated, as it is on the sweet side. Still, this isn’t bad for a wheat ale, if that’s what you’re in the mood for.
