2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap @ Haandfest 2014. This is a blurry deep amber looking one with a small lacing off-white bubbly head. Smells kinda caramelly with tones of red berries, cold coffee, old dry white chocolate and grassy silo grass. In the taste it has a soft roasted element. Feels like light oily in the mouth and it’s just below average on the bubbles. Mouthdrying., kinda medicinal in a way. Not bad to drink at all but perhaps a tad unbalanced on the extreme bitterness. A few plusses on the abv scale would benefit this one. 24.05.2014

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: A hoppy, yeasty and earthy amber ale of some kind. Good beer.
How: Bottle at La Tape, Madrid.
The look: Cloudy amber body topped by a small off - white head.
In long: Nose is fruity and floral hops, soft caramel and a little earthy-farmhouse-thing going on. In mouth the beer has a round medium body with a medium carbonation, comfortable mouthfeel. Taste has soft caramel, earthy notes, surprisingly strong yeast presence, a good amount of hops. A hopping that is hard to nail down, part floral, part fruity, part wooden, moderately resinous. Nothing memorable, just a decent beer, just another beer for me that I can rate on ratebeer hoping that some people will find inspiration in my weight gain journey.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: brown-orange, short creamy light tan head, slight lacing. Aroma: caramel, light molasses, lemon, grapefruit, and pine. Taste: brown sugar, grapefruit, pine, toasted brown bread, hint of nuts. Finish: dry, bitter citrus lasts longer than the slightly sweet, toasty malts. Notes: Incredibly good palate. Flavors were mostly balanced, straying to the hoppy at the very end. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bouteille.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (Birofilia2014, Zywiec)
Simple sweet grainy aroma, a touch of husks. Light brown, small beige head. Bigger grainy taste, lots of husks, plenty of wood, and some hazelnut. Finish bitter, plenty of nuttiness. Ends with a gentle tingle. Improves as it warms. Aroma was a bit stodgy, that’s the only down-side.
