(33 cl bottle in wine glass.) Pours rather dark with a finger head and the aroma is quite shy. I was expecting/hoping for more chocolate or/and coffee. But this is basically a regular porter to me. I’d say the chocolate is what comes through a bit but overall more just a decent roasted imperial porter.

Een zware, bittere stout. In het smaakpalet zitten hout, koffie, cacaopoeder, dadel. Weinig schuim op dit donkerbruine tot zwarte bier.

(Draught at Café Derat, Utrecht, 18 Feb 2016) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, cacao and a slightly vinous finish with a generous cacao bitterness. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Solid and well made imperial porter with generous flavours of coffee and cacao. Very nice.
