Bottle at home, says its and imperial IPA on the label. Very dark brown with fizzy short lasting dark brown head. Molasses, cardboard, quite malty and I guess is the pumpkin. Lots of roasted notes, quite some alcohol, coffee and marzipan. Medium sweet and alcoholic bitter. Over medium bodied with slick feel, some alcohol and moderate chili burn. A bit messy and alcoholic but not at all unpleasant.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa, licorice and light chili. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol and burning chili. Oily. Even though I’ve had much worse in terms of chili burns in beer, I still don’t like the chili in this beer. The base beer is great though. 230816

Aromat: raczej skromny. Dominuje alkohol, papryczki i nieco dyni.

Smak: umiarkowana słodycz, nuty palone, czekoladowe, melano, likierowe (alkohol) i wyraźna ostrość papryczek.

Draught at Brewberry. Pleasant impy stout base, lovely spicy finish with a numb edge. Not for everyone but a fun brew, just spiced enough to keep your palate alive.

Aroma: dark chocolate, dried fruits, cocoa, coffee and classy alcohol. Taste: cocoa, coffee, roasted malts, liquor and very pleasant chili warming. Medium head, poor lacing and medium carbonation.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2016 Bottle. Color: Black. Small light brown head. Taste: Roasted malts, chocolate / coffee. Lightly bitter. Almost immediately followed by medium sweet, peppery, spicy bitterish taste. Like an ?explosion? of tastes in your mouth. Althoigh the chili taste is kind of subtle. Warm mouthfeel. This will undoubtedly be appreciated by some people, but it?s just not my beer.

Small brownish head with low retention. Black coffee colour. Aroma is dry cocoa and dry coffee. The chili is perceived as chillyness. Taste is warm dried dark fruits, dry chili sensation on the throat at finish. ’Pumpkin’ palate, chilly smell, warm taste and hot (pepper) finish: A storm of sensations!

keg at bier cab
very rich, sweet and heavy, not much of the chili but the vegetal pumpkin is up front and doesn’t quite work at this strength, sticky and syrupy, even my sample glass was a struggle. This could work well blended with a fresher or more acidic beer to cut through the sweetness.
