330 ml bottle. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Intense aroma of citric fruits (grapefruit) and melon. Medium body with soft carbonation. The taste is malty and starts lightly sweet and fruity (stone fruit); a little alcoholic with low bitterness, that increases distinctly in the ending.

bastarda (377) - Freiburg, GERMANY - MAY 13, 2016
two-faced Amber Ale, offering aromas of orange marmelade, yellow fruits and tropical notes on whafts of caramel and alcohol (strange at this abv); this almost sticky fruityness promised here can’t be found in taste - there, everything is on the dank, resinous, herbal side, with maybe slight floral and fruity highlights. Again, the alcohol sticks out too much, spoiling the fun a bit. On a big whaft of alcohol, the finish has left before it was there.

Drank with Patrick at my place 30-4-2016. Lots of pressure on the bottle, very much foam. Taste is dominated by this, some hoppyness in the middle and sweetness in the end. Not that special.

Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is a bit weird, metallic and dank. Taste is better, caramel malt and a lot of walnuts on the finish. Body and carbonation are medium. Taste is quite good but the aroma is a letdown.
