Draught at SMÖF. Hazy golden, rich head. Pungent, very interesting herbal aroma, some marzipan. Mid dry with above medium body and soft mouthfeel. Pleasant, rather powerful herbal flavour. Low-medium bitterness. Unique, yet balanced. Lovely stuff!

Draft at Borefts. According to Jesper, this one is unpronounceable even for Swedes. Cloudy orange yellow color, small white head, solid lacing. Aroma of grassy spice, subtle licorice, straw. Taste is bitter straw, dried grass, spice. Unique.

Draft @ Borefts 2012 // One of the more ’special’ Närke brews. Apparently moosegrass is the special herb that I was getting, I knew that this had to have some kind of Swedish unique herbs that I have never heard off but obviously couldn’t guess what it was. Is that even like eatable? Bright hazy golden with a decent neatly lacing white head. Smell is quite herbal, hard to pinpoint what, it is moosegrass apparantly but strong sharp vaguely familiar herb but you cannot pit your finger on. both sharp and sweeter qualities blended with some sweeter lemon. light sweet grains. Taste is as someone pointed out - indeed - huge jasmine,.sweet citrus, heavy herbal, yeast, spices, lemongrass and lemon zest. bitter in a spice way. Light easy to drink, one weird session beer, it such a weird flavor but works at the same time - hard to say what to do with this one....

gnoff (6320) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - FEB 27, 2013
Draught at Ölrepubliken during "Närkevecka", on February 27, 2013
Hazy golden color, fairly big lasting cream colored head. Sweet, floral, summer meadow, weeddy flower scent after rain, bubblegum, curious and unusual, though not bad, scent. Sweet, herbal, floral, sugary, flower stems, some red berries, dew or rain infused meadow character taste. Sweet, herbal, bubblegum, floral aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, frairly moderate co2 level. Pretty low bitterness.
Since "Älgört/Älggräs" (Meadowsweet) was a farily common herb to use in flavoring of beer in sweden before hops became common this is an extra interesting beer for me. I now feel I want to pick some and make a beer of my own in this "old style" Swedish beer.
Uncommon but very nice and interesting scent and taste indeed.
After a while getting used to the first impressions I pick up loads of cinnamon on both and scent and taste that I didn’t get at first.

From tap @Borefts 2012. Near clear gold colored. A finger og white head. Lemon zesty nose. Some herbs, some mild spices and hint of sulphur. Crisp citrussy and spicy flavor. Some hard to pin-point herbal notes. Light sweet malt body. Balancing bitterness. Fresh herbal and citrussy endnotes.
