Whow vilken rökig doft - enris och badstu. Mycket trevlig balans i smaken av rök, aska och sälta. Bästa rökölet för mig hittils

Draft @ Borefts 2012. Black with a nicely lacing white head. Nose is a very heavy medicinal peat, hospitals can clean their instruments with this type of stuff, very well-done and clear, enough to scare away those who are not into this kind of stuff at the table with some smoke and what I assume is juniper blended in, lots of smoked whiskey malts. Taste is clean, sharp, easy to drink sharp medicinal smoked whiskey malts blended with some nice caramel sweetness as well, sweeter sea whiskey, some syrup, medicinal sweetness, heavy herb, what I assume is juniper is. Lightly oily body, easy to drink, wonderfully well=done stuff.

I drank this at the brewery with Hans, bottle into a Narke tulip.
The beer pours a light brown color with a light tan head. Decent retention and lacing...The aroma and taste are both wonderfully smokey. The smoke is medium to light and totally dominates the palate but not overall. Its super easy to drink and has the right amount of smoke with a touch of bacon on the back end. Super easy to drink.
If you like smoked beers this is the beer you need to search out. Brings you all the flavor you enjoy from a smoke beer without all the strength of a Germam rauch. The easier smoked beer to drink around.

Bottle at 2nd BBF @ De Molen. Very very smoked in the aroma, as if a nice campfire just emerged. Slightly thin body and low carbonation. Great beer though, exactly how a smoked brew should be.

[On tap at Bishops Arm, Vasagatan, Stockholm] Pours deep ruby, almost black, with a low head. Big smokey Islay-whisky aroma with notes of tar. Flavour is smoke, peat and ash. A big and powerful beer.

Draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, courtesy of Håge & Berith, thanks! This was a very nice smoke beer that Håge put on tap after the start of the festival. It had a nice aroma of sizzling bacon and ashtray (in a good way), and a taste of smokey butterscotch. Afterward, he blended this 50/50 with the Stormaktsporter (something only Håge could be brave enough to do), and the result was amazing! Thanks for an interesting festival.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2008 Bottle, 6.3%. Salami-like smoke aroma, like good spegepølse. Quite dark brown colour, unstable head. The flavour is nicely smoky, quite like whisky. A little salty. Good mouthfeel and a very good smokiness. 8 4 8 4 18
EBF08. Very smoky aroma, salami and wood. VERY smoked flavour, like eating leftovers from last night’s bonfire. Quite nice. Clear amber colour. 7 3 7 3 17

500mL bottle, via rickgordon, shared at Kennett Square Brewfest after-party 2006. Pours a clear dark copper under a fizzy light brown head that faded to a thin film. Aroma is full of smoked malt with some delicious smoked meat notes. Very sharp and clean. Flavor is just great, with in your face smoke and moderate maltiness. Finishes with a moderate bitterness and a long lingering campfire smokiness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with very soft fine carbonation. Finishes lightly dry. Overall, this was quite a great Smoke beer. It really was up there with some of the classic brews I’ve had from Aecht Schlenkerla, not on par, but up there. Who would have guessed that this was from Sweden? These guys at Närke are really putting out quality stuff. Hopefully they will step up bottling efforts and get more of this stuff out to the world.

courtesy of Per - dark brown colour and a giant foamy pale beige head; solid smokey nose (close to an Islay whisky) with aroma of honey, wood and pine needles; tart and sweet with a robust malt body; the finish is rather dry with long notes of smoke and caramel - a great beer
