3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ungstrup (22906) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 12, 2007
Bottled at RBESG 2006. A pitch black beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate as well as a light touch of dust. The flavor is sweet malty with lots of chocolate in the beginning at first as dark milk chocolate, but turning into bitter dessert chocolate, leading to a very dry and bitter finish.

Bottle. Black with a brown head and with a fragrance of alcohol. Tastes of smoke and fruits but quite young I believe. Bitter after taste. Should be kept in a storage room for a while but it has some potential. To bad I live in a apartment.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 yngwie (8717) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 1, 2006
Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. Dark brown topped by a tan head. Spices and beef-stock in the aroma makes it quite unusual, but nice. Chockolate and coffee in the flavor, and some vegetable-notes. Dry and full mouthfeel. Quite a lot alcohol for a beer at 6.3% ABV. (060826)
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kramer (3376) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 23, 2006
500 ml bottle, via rickgordon. Leaky bottle received with about 30 percent of the contents gone. Opened with a nice release of CO2, poured an opaque black colored body under a foamy firm brown head that had good retention and eventually faded to a thin film. Aroma is very chocolaty with a light roastiness and a good bit of coffee. Some yeast, chalk, and a hint of smoke. Flavor is quite dry, and roastier than I expected. This has a really earthy flavor, and really leans more towards a Stout to me. Some carmel and super moist fudgecake on the moderately bitter finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with nice soft active carbonation. Finishes chalky and dry. One of the most earthy tasting beers I’ve ever had, but it worked.
