Tap at De Mollen event ... Black ... nice soft roast ... little meaty nose ... quite a lot of alcohol ... soft smooth ... rich ... little chocolate....

Tasted at the first, great, Borefts Beer Festival 2009 @ De Molen. Black colored brew. Vanilla, roasted aroma. Flavor is roasted malts,chocolate, oak, some dark fruits. The oak makes it a bit less flavorfull, still very, very good.

Draught at Örebro Öl- och Whiskeyfestival. Very black, small beige head. Aroma of licorice and oak. Mid-sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Mouthfilling flavour of coffee and licorice, somewhat oily with well hidden alcohol. The same velvetty softness as other Kaggen, but quite different oaky flavours.

On tap at Örebro Öl & Whisky Festival. Black color, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, wood, vanilla, honey. Flavour is more clearly woody, less complex version than the regular Kaggen, though with some great chocolate, vanilla and honey flavours also found in the regular Kaggen. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Balanced, and very nice to drink and sip on in small amounts. I think this is good but I tasted the regular Kaggen side by side thanks to a guy a met there, and this wasn’t as good as the original.

It looked the same as any other version of Kaggen. The only difference was in the smell and taste. This version was milder then the others and not as complex. Still a very nice beer with a great smooth mouthfeel. Taste and smell of chocolate, coffee and wood.

On tap at Borefts BF 09. Black colour. Lasting tan head. Funnily enough a touch of whisky on this. Liquroice. It’s pretty good.

On tap at the 1. BBF, served by the marvolous brewers. This imperial porter has reached an almost mythelogical status here on ratebeer - unfortunately this version was the only one I tasted for some strange reason. Crazy. The pour came light blacky with no head at all - almost like a coca cola that have been in the glass over night and lost all its bubbles. The nose is anonymous (not in the bad way) and light. Theres a faint hint of smoke, some vanilla, chocolate and oak. The taste is again very low-key but very nice and complex. Dry fruits, burned down stuff, chocolate and caramels. The light smokyness adds nicely to the wholde picture. The mouthfeel is a little sticky and tingles from the alcohol... Nice beer. I still regret that I dindn´t taste the other versions. Stupidity - yes sir

Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival 2009. Black colour, tan head,. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malts. Flavour of roasted malts, vanilla, raisins and dark fruits. Again, the nose is amazing.
