Draft @ BBF. Deep peaty oaky liquorice, some spices. Flavour is very intense and extreme, deep lingering bitterness, rounded by a nice sweet roasted malt profile and a hint of wood. Not sure if I like it better than regular stormaktsporter. Very nice brew.

Draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, and at the after party. 2009 version, courtesy of Håge, thank you. This one has slightly less complexity than the other versions, the wood is apparent, and there are subtle hints of forest berries and cinnamon. Good stuff.

Countbeer (4678) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 3, 2010
Draught@BBF’10: Brown lacing on top of a black body. Smell liquorice, coffee and brown sugars. Taste is a sticky mix of wood, brown roasted sugars, light smokey. Soft smoothness and mouthfeel with sweets. Bit of a grassy aftertaste.

On tap at Borefts Festival. The beer pours pitch black with a creamy tan head leaving great lacings. The aroma is oak, vanilla, bourbon, roasted malt, light coffee and chocolate. The flavour is bourbon, oak, chocolate, tobacco and roasted malt. Great!

Tap, Borefts, thanks to team Narke. Massive oaky aroma, sour edge, wild beerries, coffee, cream, very good heart-warming alcohol, roasted malts, wood chips and burnt toast, little too aggressive but amazing.

Theis (13761) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2010
Draught at Borefts Bier Festival 2010 - a bit less than the Cognac version. Pitch black - nice brown head. Lots of oak and wood, dry wooden finish, burned, licorice, light hoppy, high malty. Lovely.

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a dense, creamy and chocolate brown. Aroma is dark roasted malt and wooden. Dark malty and chocolate. Smooth dark malty, dark chocolate and mild vanilla flavoured. Thick and creamy, slight sticky. Vague smoked. Mellow and smooth lingering dark malty and slight bitter finish.

Tap at 2nd BBF @ De Molen. Very thick black pour but a very delicate flavor, round and well balanced. Smooth and quite drinkable. Amazing brew.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2011 I suspect the beer at the festival 2010 called "Kaggen Stormaktsporter 2009 Swedish Oak Barrel 9.6% (Keg)" is this one, so gonna put my rating here. Tap. Dark, pitch black, nice light brown head, should maybe hold a bit longer. Smell is sweet coffee and red fruits, very nice spiced. Good smell for sure. Sour-sweet coffee and chocolat, caramel, heavy beer, but very good beer. Love it for sure.
