omhper (19377) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - NOV 27, 2009
Draught at Örebro Öl- och Whiskeyfestival. Very black, small beige head. Aroma of licorice and oak. Mid-sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Mouthfilling flavour of coffee and licorice, somewhat oily with well hidden alcohol. The same velvetty softness as other Kaggen, but quite different oaky flavours.

Opaque black beer with a little tan head. Lovely dark malts, smooth, creamy and with some sweeteness coming from the Swedish oak. Totally inadequate rating cause I’m enjoying this too much!

30th October 2009
On tap at Borefts I. Opaque black stout, sweet malty nose. Soft palate. Sweet aromatic wood throughout but doesn’t taste oaky! Gets sweeter toward the finish but does leave a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste.

On tap at Borefts BF 09. Black colour. Lasting tan head. Funnily enough a touch of whisky on this. Liquroice. It’s pretty good.

Draught at Borefts Bier Festival 2010 - a bit less than the Cognac version. Pitch black - nice brown head. Lots of oak and wood, dry wooden finish, burned, licorice, light hoppy, high malty. Lovely.

Draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, and at the after party. 2009 version, courtesy of Håge, thank you. This one has slightly less complexity than the other versions, the wood is apparent, and there are subtle hints of forest berries and cinnamon. Good stuff.

Tap @ 1st BBF De Molen.
Pours completely black with a small, staying, creamy, beige film head. Lovely aroma with wood, roasted malts, soft soft chocolate. Some dried fruit notes and blackberries that just enhance the feel. Medium, soft carbonation, lovely dry and creamy mouthfeel. Even better flavour, roasted, nuts, molasses, oak smoothness. Light oaky tartness. Nice lingering bitterness. Wonderful, but still a step or two behind the "real" kaggen.
