Draught @ Borefts Beer Festival 2009 - De Molen.
Unclear dark dark brown almost black color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, dark chocolate, caramel, smoke - peat, wood, light earth, honey ? Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily and creamy, carbonation is soft to flat. A Kaggen with extra smoke notes ! I prefere the original Kaggen ;O) but I also like this one very much .. world class beers from Närke. [20091030]

Draught@SBWF2009. Qute much pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee, nuts, mild caramel and coffee. Also some mild vanilla and chocolatepraline notes. Flavour is smoked, a bit peaty, with some mild wooden, vanillaish and smoked wet wooden notes. Quite thick palate and also wellbalanced. Mild notes of turf and toffee show up as well. Alcohol in the finish. I still like the normal Kaggen better.

Black coloured with a small beige head.
Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, honey, coffee and alcohol.
Sweet and roasted flavour of honey, coffee, dark chocolate, hops and alcohol.
Roasted and warming alcoholic finish.
Nice.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. (rating number 12000). Black, small head. Marked oaky whisky aroma. Sweet with licorce and coffee. The velvetty softness of the Stormaktsporter is there. The mouthfilling flavours of coffee, chocolate and licorice now have edges of oaky smoky whisky. Compared to the 2008 and 2007 regular versions of Kaggen I have on the side this appears a bit more boozy.

Tap at De Molen 2009 event ... Black ... nice roast ... lots fo chocolate malt nose ... again lots of chocolate ... little woody ... little smoke in linger ... little bitter in linger ...

On tap at Borefts I. Opaque black stout, softish palate but also a little dry. Sweetish malt. The smoky whisky is subtle but contrasts nicely with the sweet wood of the oak. A warming and slightly spicy finish.

Opaque black color, small steady brown head. Licorice, roasted malts, vanilla, whisky and salt licorice in the nose. Licorice, espresso, sweet dark candies and whisky in the flavor. Lingering roastyness in the aftertaste. Very tasty, but normal version of Kaggen is still better.

Pours a lightly muddy black with practically no head. Aroma is light peity, some oak, liqourice, softly roasted and dark chocolate. Low carbonation, fine oily mouthfeel. Flavour is soft, very light peity, roasted, oak. Very soft, but still a bit weird.

Cask, 1st BBF De Molen, sold as Närke Kaggen Smoke Swedish Oak. Loads of malt in the aroma. Soy sauce, oak and dark chocolate. malty salty flavor with licorice, hints of peated smoke, oak, raisin and vanilla.

Etwas medizinischer Geruch mit komplexer Malznote. Wenig rauchiger und scharf alkoholischer Antrunk, das komplexe Malz befindet sich eher im Hintergrund. Voluminös ist es dennoch, spätestene im Mittelteil, wenn das Malz in den Vordergrund kommt und die Macht übernimmt. Die Rauchigkeit ist nun das prägende und unterstützende Hintergrundaroma.
