4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cognac and alcohol come through in the aroma. Very thick, it really coats the tongue. Warming taste of cognac and bitter tar leads to a bittersweet finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Borefts. Poured dark and syrupy, aroma is of heavy fruit and liquorice. Flavour is heavy and roasted. Like trying to drink treacle.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at 4th Borefts. Pitch black colour with thick, reawakening, lacing, brown head. Complex sweet dark malty aroma with notes of vanilla, smoke, roast, wood. Taste is even more complex, chocolate and honey siruppy sweetness with harmonically corresponding roasty, smokey, woody and vanilla notes. Full body, oily palate. Un-be-fuckin’-lievable!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Just as with pretty much everyone else this was my first beer @ Borefts 2012 // 2010 Draft vintage. Half a tasting glass pours, this pours rather viscous almost syrup-like, impressive. Pitch black, little in the way of a tanned head. Smells is oily, smoked almost going over touch peated, some licorices, thick, mocha dark fruits. This prunes, licorice almost seaweed and turf like notes in the flavour, tad bitter, thick oily roast, viscous, bitter sweet, sweet small touches of bitter and warming cognac in the back. Solid sludgy with quite sludgy carb. Damn fine beer but comparable equally good stuff is out there. Lovely to try and damn mighty fine tick. Probably too high expectations no beer can live up to - not really the beers fault.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught @ Borefts ’12 (2010 edition). Black color, with brown head. Aroma’s: sour fruit/cognac, umami, soy sauce, roasted. Wood comes out more retronasal. Flavor is medium sweet, somewhat roasted. Quite strong alcohol feel, full body, low carbonation. Finishes with some wood, soy sauce, lightly bitter. Quite delicate.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Borefts beer festival. Crude oil like pour with a thin brown head. This beer is everything you expect from a quality porter and then some more. It has that lovely roasted malt aroma with loads of chocolate and liqourice in the flavour coupled with oak and a hint of cognac, which thankfully wasn’t dominant. A gorgeous, well rounded and very drinkable beer.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pitch black body, tan head. Creamy, dark chocolate, roasted nuts. Delicious. But the proof is in the taste actually. So rich, wow. Lives up to its fame. (On tap at Borefts 2012)

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Draft @ borefts. Pitch black with a small tanned head. Aroma of roasted oak, cognac, espresso beans. Flavor is sweet, burnt and has little alcohol. Cognac shines trough the experience. Very nice..
