4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours thick and black with a big tan head. Nose is heavy booze, raisins, vanilla, smoke and wood. Taste is bitter smoke with a big amount of sweet to balance. Amazingly smooth mouthfeel, soft, big heavy body and a long drawn out finish. Amazing beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at HaandFestival 2012. A good looking beer, black, and topped by a small, firm, tan head. Booze, roasted malts, licorice, chocolate notes and some prunes on the palate. It’s full-bodied, warming and soft on the palate, with flavors of licorice, roasted malts, booze, bitterness and some faint burnt notes. A little citrus peel hint as well. Lasting finish with roasted malts and a good bitterness. Pure, lasting joy. 120504

Rating 1700. Bottle @ Akkurat, still have the bottle on display. Black pour with some brown head. Dark malts, light fruit, licorice, wood, cognac, sweetness and some balancing stronger flavors. Very nice barrel aged brew. Wish we could get some narke more often.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big thanks to nbutler11 for this. I was pretty sure I’d never see a bottle of this beer. It pours deep mahogany with tan head and leaving behind some nice staining of the glassware. The aroma is nice with dark roasted malts, spicy oak, molasses, chocolate brownie and some dark roasted coffee. The taste is rich with slivers of spicy oak bathing in sweet molasses and rimmed with chocolate fudge brownie and smooth Cognac like booziness. It ends, or does it ever end as it lingers and lingers, with crusty molasses, chocolate and spicy oak. Yummers!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Akkurat. It pours jet black, with a medium tan head. The nose is coffee, chocolate cake, dark fruit, caramel, toasted coconut, millionaires shortbread (if you know what that is), balsamic vinegar, vanilla and unami notes. The taste is roasted malt, rich coffee, acidity, toasted coconut, tar, burnt toast, wood, charcoal, touch of meatiness, vinous aspect and dark fruit (plum, prune and raisin), with a dry, roasted finish. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Complex and well balanced. Delicious stuff.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ Akkurat Stockholm. Finally! Deep black appearance with a bubbly, tan head. Nice, richly vinous, date/plum/dark fruity, somewhat roasty malty aroma. Not as much roast in the nose as I was hoping for based on the original version. Very intense flavor. Moderate booze, thick dark grape, burnt dark roasty malty, big fruity, date, milk chocolate flavor. A little syrupy. Nice roastiness but fairly sweet and vinous on the finish. I missed all the roasty notes that I got in the original version though some of those characteristics show up in the finish especially. 2010 vintage. I would certainly take the Kaggen version (I tried a 2006 Kaggen Stormaktsporter) over this cognac version, even though this was quite tasty.
