2006 bottle @ BA Järntorget 090426. Pours with a small brown head. Slightly sourish and nutty aroma with notes of chocolate, soy and dates. Flavor is bitter and astringent with a smoky note. Overall leaning more towards english than american stouts. Perfectly aged right now.

The bottle I sampled was a 2005 bottle that my cousin krkearney shared with me around the Christmas holiday, thanks Keith! The beer poured a deep black hole color with a deep brown head that runs away quickly. The nose had some wonderful chocolate and caramel notes. The taste has a definite bitter chocolate taste with some dried fruit notes and a great malty backbone. I am glad I finally got a chance to try one of the Narke beers.

2005 vintage. Very vinous, smooth and kind. Olily and slick with loads of flavour, berries, chocolate, fruit. Very complex and multidimensional but at the same time polite with a rather carefull approach.

[250 ml bottle, 2005 vintage] Thanks ClarkVV. Another well balanced Stout from Narke. Aroma indicated signs of aging, but the "Porter" is dominated by various flavors of Liquorice, roasted malt, Vanilla, bold coffee, and (bitter) dark fruits (raisins, prunes, and maybe cherries).

[250 ml bottle, 2005 vintage] Pitch black color, with a thick chokolate brown foam. A sweet aroma with rasins, burnt sugar and caramell malt. The flavor is vineuse (?) and full with chokolate, sweet rasins, vanilla and a smooth after taste with honey.

Bought at Bishops Arms for 15USD...ouch! Apperance: Pitch black with a thin, brown, ring of lace on top. Aroma: Cherries, Dark Chocolate, Coffee, Plums. Flavor: Bitter coffee, Port Wine, Vanilla, Alcohol, Burnt sugar. Palate: Thick, rich and kick-ass. Medium carbonation with tiny bubbles. Well this just has to be one of the best porters i’ve tried. So rich and and complex that it needs to be sipped carefully. This is just swedish beer at its best! Go try now!
