4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
[Thanks to oh6gdx]. 25cl bottle. Dark brown colour with a quickly dissapearing tan head, great viscosity while poured. Aroma has toasted and roasted malts notes, licorice, light alcohol, coffee notes. Flavor has notes of dark coffee, alcohol, bourbon, light cocoa notes, black chocolate, wooden hints. The final has notes of dark coffee with an excellent sensation and duration in the aftertaste. Very dense on palate, creamy and smooth. Light alcoholic sensation that is hidden by the coffee and black chocolate notes. Carbonation is low. Body is high. Texture is oily.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of "hannont". Colour...black with a thick tan head. Nose...dark molasses, burnt sugar and a little soy. Palate...velvety, coating and plush with dark chocolate and devils food cake leading the charge and sharing the ride with treacle, cocoa mass, baked brown sugar butter and a delightfully boozy aspect that carries across the whole of the palate.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draught at ÖÖWF 2012. 2009 edition on tap, next to the Kaggen-edition, also 2009. Aroma complex, dried fruit, raisins, coffee, fairly sweet. Taste coffee, dried froot, burnt notes without the sharpness. Very nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black in color with a small tan head. Opens up with roasted malt, a light char, and heavy chocolate and vanilla aromas. There is a lot of cocoa powder, toffee, and molasses as well, giving it a moderate sweetness. The flavor is well balanced with excellent vanilla, molasses, and toffee underneath all of the roast, chocolate, and coffee characteristics. Excellent body and mouthfeel as well.

The taste is roasted malt, rich coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, salted caramel, charcoal, toasted coconut, chocolate, gateaux and toast, with a dry, bitter chocolate finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Incredibly smooth, complex and perfectly balanced. A joy to drink!

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle @ Akkurat Stockholm. Finally! Deep black appearance with a very nice, medium-sized, bubbly, dark brown head. Char, deeply roasty, burnt dark chocolate, lightly boozy, mild espresso aroma. Tons of roast in the nose. Very rich, dark milk chocolate, mild vanilla, burnt malty, a touch fruity, very rich roasty flavor. Slightly boozy finish but really a perfect roasty maltiness going on. 2006 vintage. (Note: in my drunken stupor after a night at Akkurat, I put this rating under the Kaggen entry, but I had the normal one)

Shared by ygtbsm 94. Thanks a lot Brad! Served alongside Kaggen! Stormakstporter. What a treat.
The beer is dark brown, approaching black with an inch of dark beige head. The beer appears oily and viscous, with ample lacing slowly cascading down the walls of the snifter.
The aroma is distinctly European, with the usual suspects of roast and chocolate. A healthy dark fruit presence asserts itself as well.
Rich, thick, and wonderful. Certainly not lacking in flavor. The 9.5% alcohol is well hidden. Palate coating, with chocolate covered dark fruits and a lingering, warm, roasty aftertaste.
Overall, I prefer the cask matured version (Kaggen!), but still think this is an exceptional stout. Highly recommended, should you have the opportunity.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2008 bottle (18 cl - this is tinier than I thought!), shared with BBGTC... At last! My first Närke beer, and not any Närke either - the Stormaktsporter has been coveted by me and my faithful beer comrades for a long time. Now, only Kaggen remains to get the top of this Swedish monolith of craft beer. :-) Pours a pitch black body with a tiny off-white head. Aroma is heather honey, coffee, leather, vanilla, wood, raisins, hints of syrup and alcohol. Very complex and very nice. Taste follows suit: with dark fruits and mild oxidized raisin-like tones, then milk chocolate, coffee and honey, finishing off with sweet dark malts, licorice and hints of burnt wood. Equally complex and nice. Smooth carbonation, full body. Though perhaps not the best imperial stout I’ve tasted, it’s definitely a delicious beer and a good contender for the top spots. Wish for a whole (if you consider 18 cl to be "whole") bottle myself next time! :-)

Pours a pitch black oily with a small film of tan foam
fantastic aroma, raisins, coffee, blackcurrant, leather, roasted malts and molasses
Burnt wood, raisins, coffee and sweet malty roastyness. Leather and tar in the back with some cognacy notes.
Full to medium and a bit too softly carbonated.
