17-MAY-2013, draft @Mikkeller Bar with Ulkløbben. Clear amber with low off-white head. Salami aroma. Charred wood, sweet malt, and bread. Taste too smokey again in a meaty sausage way. Well made beer but not my type. Too smokey but an nice bock may lure underneath?

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, pours a deep dark orangey amber with a small beige head. Aroma of peaty malt, and toasted nuts -- very subtle. Flavour of smoked malt, toasted nuts, and musty earthy notes. Another very smoky one from Narke and not very elegant. Decent stuff.

Pours hazy copper color with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, whisky notes, caramel and malts. Flavour is the same with some berries and smoke. Quite sweet and woody. Odd.

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a hazy murky amber colour. Aroma of smoked meat, strong malts and grass. Flavour of peat, smoked malts and grass. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel. Warming and peaty doppelbock.

Draught @ Ölrepubliken. Pours hazy deep dark brown with a creamy and frothy beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving a thick lacing on the glass. Smell is subtle, slightly sweet and malty with bread, smoke, peat, wood, caramel, biscuits, cereal, lemon zest and hints of pine needles. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, tiny sour and malty with sweet dark bread, caramel, lemon juice, plums, wood, biscuits, pine needles, cookie dough, peat, smoke and hints of pine needles and juniper berries. Mouthfeel is smooth, round, tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, slightly bitter and tiny sour with sweet dark bread, peat, wood, smoke, lemon juice and cereal. Nice and balanced.

@Gothenburg beer and whiskey festival. Hazy Dark amber. Smells of stables, sweet. I taste sweetness, som darker smoky notes.

@BBF12. Pours dark amber with a white head. Aroma is caramel, smoke, fruit and light pine. Flavour is caramel, smoke, dried fruit and light pine.

Poured hazy, with an amber color and a small tan head. Fruity, smokey aroma with hints of forest berries and honey. Well balanced bitter finish with a fruity aftertaste.

Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2012. Pours a clear and dark copper beer with a weak white head. The aroma is malt, weak smoke and weak peat. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is smoke. Overall a beer below average, and out of balance.
