COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
‘Gansett’s limited-edition Autocrat Coffee Milk Stout, a unique collaboration between two iconic Rhode Island companies, is set to hit shelves in just 2 weeks. A custom blend of Narragansett’s bittersweet milk stout with dark, delicious Autocrat Coffee makes for a delightful beer that is more Rhode Island than Roger Williams himself. Since the 1890’s, Narragansett Beer and Autocrat Coffee have been home-grown Rhode Island favorites. With more than 100 years of shared heritage, the two local legends joined forces to celebrate the art of craft brewing and bring New England an emblematic brew that pays homage to their history. The full-bodied milk stout is enriched with the robust flavor of Autocrat Coffee to achieve an extraordinary taste experience. Brewed under the supervision of award-winning Brewmaster Sean Larkin, Narragansett’s Autocrat Coffee Milk Stout delivers a flavorful, smooth, dark brew with notes of roasted barley, chocolate malt and rich crystal malt. The exacting touch of hops provides just the right amount of bitterness to balance the sweet notes of the malts and milk sugar.

Six pack at a local bodega: Pours near black with a light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, lactose, caramel. Taste is kind of sweet. Body is smooth, and it goes down pretty easy. Not too sweet. Maltiness is well sustained. Pretty good.

The aroma is burnt malt, coffee, and chocolate milk. The appearance is dark brown. The taste is like the aroma with a bitter sweet finish. The palate is average. Overall a pretty average example of the style.

16 oz. can poured into an oversized snifter. Pours black with some reddish edges and a one finger creamy tan head. Huge coffee with cream aroma. Sweetened coffee flavor with light chocolate and vanilla bean. Body is a bit thin, but leans to the creamy side. Very enjoyable.

16oz can pours dark brown black with just over a finger of offwhite head. Nose has nice earthy roasty coffee and ashy dirt, nutty burnt dark chocolate and coffee beans. Taste is fair enough with some creamy vanilla coffee, touch of cocoa, and bit of charred milk chocolate. Where this beer falls short is the mouthfeel, this is straight up coffee water...finish is nutty vanilla cream coffee and some toasted walnut with a dusting of white chocolate. For 8 cents an ounce you could do worse.

Pours black into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Mike chocolate and coffee aromas. Dry with milk chocolate and espresso upfront turning sour and metallic in the medium length finish.
