COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Roll out the Barrel: 5.0% Alcohol by Volume and 12 IBUs. A classic American lager and the workhorse of the Gansett stable. Available all year long in bottle, can and on tap! Quality Supreme: We brew our lager with six row malt, seedless hops, corn from Iowa, our lager strain (the same one the brewery has depended on since just after Prohibition), and the purest water from Lakes Ontario and Hemlock. Taste & Enjoy: This beer is brewed just right for drinking—crisp and refreshing. It’s got more flavor than other premium lagers, yet it’s one of the most drinkable beers in the world. Narragansett has the highest rating of all domestic premium lagers on BeerAdvocate.com, and received the bronze medal for American Lagers at the 2008 World Beer Cup The History: The Lager is old reliable. It was the first beer brewed by “The Original Six” back in 1890, the bestselling beer in New England from the 1930s to the 1970s, and the official beer of the Boston Red Sox from 1944-1975.

Note:
Contract brewed by High Falls Brewing Co. for since 2007, the production moving to City Brewing in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 2009 and then to the City Brewing plant in Latrobe, PA in 2010. It is anticipated that production may be returned to Rhode Island in the future.

What can I say, for a crappy pale lager in a can, it’s over of the best, but it is still just that, a tasteless pale lager you drink out of a can as a substitute to PBR.

16 oz can into a frosted mug. dark yellow with with thin white head. Aroma of malt and corn. Taste of malt and corn as well with a sweet finish. One of the best beers I’ve tried in a while. 16 oz cans 2 for 2.22 is a steal!!!

Served very cold. Light yellow pour from 16oz can. Big white foamy head. Light bready aroma. Flavor is light malt and corn. Sweet malty corn finish. Adjunct lager is far from my favorite type of beer, that said this was drinkable when cold enough an better than the macro adjunct lagers I've tried.

Bottle. Clear straw color. Corn and biscuit aroma. Hit the spot after a long drive. Refreshing with a bite on the finish. Higher carbonation than necessary. Lingering harsh bitterness on the feel. Ok ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from my sister’s trip to the USA deep gold with a soapy foamy head. Sweet sugary aroma the taste matches sweet malts, sugary with a crisp bitter green herbal finish. OK.

16 ounce can that gas a clambake recipe on the back. Immaculately clear straw-colored brew, and I got a decent if short lived head on it. 12 IBU isn’t much, but it isn’t too sweet. I also detect some late hops, but not many. Better than Bud, for whatever that’s worth.

I had this at Green Dragon Tavern. Pours gold with white head. Taste corn, sweet, light. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Transfer from BA review on 8-2-12 - Poured from 16 oz can into a pint glass Appearance – Pours a straw color with a two finger white head. The head fades fast to leave only a moderate amount of lacing. Smell – The aromas are heaviest of corn. Mixed with the corn are lighter aromas of a caramel sweetness as well as a very light bready aroma. Taste – The taste is a blend breadiness and corn up front. These flavors create a body for the beer. As the taste moves on a light caramel and an almost grassy like flavor greets the tongue. These overall sweeten up the taste of the brew and leave a very nice flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is much thicker then would be expected with the carbonation level being on the higher side. Rather nice actually. Overall –For $1.05 for a tall boy this was a fantastic brew. It would be a great session brew so if going for a long steady night it may be a good choice.

Poured from 16 oz can. Pours crystal clear yellow color with white head. Aroma is malt and yeast. Flavor starts with sweet corn and malt followed by crisp yeast. Clean crisp finish. Better than most in the post Prohibition style US lager.
