COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palisade hops were added throughout the boil and dry hop schedule, along with high alpha American hops for bittering, Noble hops for aroma and a few other varieties in-between to balance the heavy malt profile. Rum soaked Oregon oak spires added during the final stages of fermentation bring flavor notes of caramel and vanilla to complement the bitterness

I don’t know what a Winter IPA is but I like it. Dominant cocoa flavors with ample hops more evident in taste than aroma. Slightly creamy with fine foam. Copper color, citrus tang, toffee undertones. No obvious alcohol... nothing hot or even warming. Light caramels swirling in there too as it warms. Really - dominant cocoa in a copper colored IPA. Beautiful

Dark pour for an IPA. Thick head. Sweet taste at the start and a delicious hop finish. Awesome seasonal IPA!

Draft at the Green Dragon. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a dense and creamy light-tan mousse that sticks around, leaving dense sheets of lace. Big forceful floral nose that, combined with the look of the beer in the glass, creates quite an impact. Delicate but powerful grass, caramel, hazy and chamomile notes on the nose. Creamy slick body, undercarbed. Caramel and sweet creamy butter on the mid-palate. Slippery sweet finish. Too bad. Started out very, very promisingly.

Draught. Rather dark for an IPA with a thick white head. Aroma is citrusy and piney hops with a bit of malt. Flavour is evenly balanced. Malty sweetness, hoppy bitterness. Some chocolate flies in there . Wat die hel is ’n winter IPA. The barman couldn’t tell me.
