From notes 10/9/05: Pours a dark cola color with plenty of ruby highlights around the edges. Fluffy tan head. Aromas are subtle with caramel and cocoa. The scents just dust the nares. Flavors of a mild roasty nature and also cocoa powder. A nutty character rises up. Firm nutbread tone. Modest mouthfeel. Extremely drinkable. This one goes down very smoothly. More than one was requested and downed easily. A solid attempt at a somewhat ignored style. Nicely done.

Most beers that Natty puts out blow. This one is a little better but no exception. Murky brown poo water. Nose is slightly vinuous, mostly just bland. Flavors reflect this. Slightly sweet and a little dry. Ehhh

Draught at the brewpub. Clear brown color with off white head. Grainy caramel nose and flavor with brown sugar undertones. Decent.

Clear borwn, sizey tan head. Big aroma of caramel and fresh bread. Subtle but nicely blended flavors of toffee and peppery hops. Easy to drink but flavorful at the same time. Sampled at Asheville Brewgrass 2005.
